Wednesday Self Help Group

If you any of these symptoms- headache, runny nose or sore throat = do not attend

You must tell us beforehand if you are attending without wearing a mask.

We are running sessions every week, to keep everyone safe as we can you must do a lateral flow test shortly before attending.

Omicron update:

You must do a lateral flow within 24 hours before a face-to-face session and bring evidence of it to the session such as NHS app, a text message from the NHS or the LFD test itself. This is a temporary measure for December and January. This is the only way our groups can continue face-to-face otherwise they would revert to on-line, which we do not wish to do.

We are really excited that Wednesdays Group Sessions returned in November as face-to-face meetings! Wednesday sessions are now face-to-face every week, with on-line available for blended every week in January. Log in on zoom to take part in the session on-line if you prefer or aren't quite able to come to face-to-face yet.

By attending you are agreeing to

  • do a referral form as soon as possible, preferably before the session which you can do by downloading a referral form here and e-mail it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
  • wear a face covering and inform us in advance if you cannot wear one.
  • do your best to stick to any rules imposed by the venue such as distancing.
  • not attend if unwell

These meetings are face to face in the city centre. The rooms can be ventilated. We need the cooperation of all members to make it as safe as possible so sessions never stop again.

If you cannot wear a face covering please inform us in advance. It is strongly advised to wear face coverings - we believe this and ventilation reduce aerosol transmission by about 70% allowing us to run sessions. The venue may ask for evidence of exemption on entry.

The face-to-face venue is at Sheffield Flourish, which is 4 Windrush Way, S3 8JU. To gain access please ring the metal doorbell as seen in the image below. Currently there is no wheelchair access to the building due to a lift that needs repairing, we will update when this has been fixed (don't forget our online sessions as an alternative). There is a voluntary £3 donation, which goes towards the costs of the rooms which in 2021 have run at an enormous loss.

Parking and directions

There is the Willey Street car park 30 metres away from Sheffield Flourish. This has parking for £2 from 4:30-8:30pm (no charging after).

There are pockets of dotted white bay parking on The Wicker itself, Blonk Street (leaving), Nursery Street, Furnival Street, Stanley Street which charge the same. Further afield you can park in the Kelham Island area for free (10 min walk) or below the cathedral/West Bar area and it's a 5-10 min walk. There is an NCP car park very close by to Flourish, but we don't recommend using it as it'll likely cost more than using places outlined

Directions by car are outlined below. Follow the green, orange or blue routes to Sheffield Flourish. The other directions are blocked by bus gates which are 24 hours.
